The 2018 Toyota 4Runner is powered by a 4.0-liter V-6 with 270 hp and 278 lb-ft of torque, paired to a five-speed automatic transmission. EPA fuel economy ratings are 17/21 mpg city/highway for rear-drive models and 17/20 with four-wheel drive.
The 2018 Toyota 4Runner gets two new option packages including the Wilderness package, which adds roof rack crossbars, all-weather floor liners and a cargo tray. The TRD Enhancement package comes with 17-inch matte gray alloy wheels and a TRD front skid plate. The Wilderness package is available on the SR5, SR5 Premium, TRD Off-Road and TRD Off-Road Premium trim while the TRD Enhancement package is only available on the latter two grades. Three new exterior colors—Super White, Midnight Black, and Calvary Blue—are exclusive to the 4Runner TRD Pro.
Cargo space stands at 9.0 cubic feet behind the optional third row, 47.2 cubic feet behind the split-folding second row seats, and 89.7 cubic feet behind the front seats. The optional sliding deck cuts cargo space down to 46.3 cubic feet behind the second row and 88.8 cubic feet behind the front seats. When properly equipped, the 2018 4Runner can tow up to 5,000 pounds of payload.
